PPL Finds Gas, Condensate at Kabir X-1 Well in Gambat South Block in Sindh
Pakistan Petroleum Ltd. made a petroleum discovery at Kabir X-1 exploration well in the Gambat South exploration license in Sanghar district in Pakistan's Sindh province.
The company, which has a 65 percent working interest in Gambat South block, drilled the Kabir X-1 well, to test the hydrocarbon potential of the Lower Goru and Sembar formations.
"During Cased Hole Drill Stem Test, the well flowed 10.94 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscf/d) gas along with 253 barrels of condensate at 16/64 inch choke size and currently well testing is underway to evaluate potential of discovery," the company said in a filing with Karachi Stock Exchange Tuesday.
Kabir X-1 well is the seventh discovery made by Pakistan Petroleum in the Gambar South.
In December, Pakistan Petroleum reported a gas and condensate discovery at the Faiz X-1 exploration well in the same block.
